Caandides before the art EP /more photos

November 11, 2012

⇞ Back (left) and front (right) of the cd (more infos here) ; there are no informations but the band’s name and the initials of the title.

⇟ Close-ups of the halfttones ; this series is printed on a laser, therefore the pattern is slightly 3D (a bit like a screenprint).

⇟ The sleeve opens at the top (these types of sleeves usually open like this), inside there is a cd wrapped in a 4 pages booklet (I am not even sure I can call that a booklet since its more like a spread).

⇟ The artwork on the actual disc is a variation of the sleeve’s black pattern with bigger dots.

⇟ The booklet/spread comes in several colours (it depends on your luck when buying the cd), it includes the set list on one side and a photo on the other.

⇟ On the central spread there are Before the art’s lyrics -and awesome (and not random) fact, it looks like mountains seen sideways (second image below).

⇟ You can listen to the music on Deezer and Bandcamp (with the old artwork).

⇟ This is the first Before the art cd in an envelope format, the current design is a mix of both the artwork you can see on the bandcamp and the black and white halftoned version below.

⇟ So far, there are two others envelope cds half-a-beat 1 (made in 2010, it’s the green one) and half-a-beat 0 (made in 2011, the one with the hand), they both use halftones and a give a low-fi feel. Everything is hand-made by the whole of Caandides with love.
