We are currently preparing a nice trip to the future for one evening at Palais de Tokyo in Paris (click on the image above for a link to the event).

So for the first time in a long time, I’ll post some works in progress…

patterns&halftones

February 13, 2013

I made these below for a new caandides artwork. They are meant to be used as textures and/or patterns and are not actual visuals -yet. Funnily I noticed that some of them were quite close to enter this list here. I won’t say more for now.

some inspiration

February 21, 2012

This week I have been to the British Museum. I went to the African, North-american and Mexican rooms (where I didn’t go before) and I have put above my favorite objects from each room.

rays

January 29, 2012

Thinking about making a new animation for caandides gigs, I am currently exploring how to make patterns with rays of coloured light. I like the texture of each ray but I think to fully exploit this idea I might need to change them to vectors.

some (bad) photos of my latest work in screenprinting

☝ I finished my four-colour process print (although there are three colours)

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

☝ I also tried to mix the colours (cyan, magenta and yellow) directly on the screen rather than working with three layers…

☝ …but it didn’t mix

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

☝ I tried to make another four-colour process print, with the intention of adding a layer of black, but I didn’t finish it because I thought that the colours transparencies were wrong and they didn’t overlapped well

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

☝ I made this to check how the process colours overlap and see which ones I need to modify for the best result. Here for instance the magenta is too transparent.

☝ Another one with a more opaque magenta, we can see that where there are magenta and cyan its purple and not deep blue anymore.

new animation (in progress)

October 17, 2011

I think the shapes don’t blend enough, it looks too much like a bunch of random stuff layered on top of each other. I will work on making this better!
