We are currently preparing a nice trip to the future for one evening at Palais de Tokyo in Paris (click on the image above for a link to the event).

So for the first time in a long time, I’ll post some works in progress…

patterns&halftones

February 13, 2013

I made these below for a new caandides artwork. They are meant to be used as textures and/or patterns and are not actual visuals -yet. Funnily I noticed that some of them were quite close to enter this list here. I won’t say more for now.

caandides cmyk variations

March 1, 2012

I printed new experiments with process inks

I overlapped the cyan, magenta and yellow in different orders in order to create new colours. The idea behind this new series (which doesn’t have any real link to caandides) is to create as many colours as possible from the minimun of layers. What is on this post is the first round, the next step is to play with different transparencies and make use of gradients. Although I stated that it isn’t really related to caandides I still used their name so that I could use the prints as visuals.

some inspiration

February 21, 2012

This week I have been to the British Museum. I went to the African, North-american and Mexican rooms (where I didn’t go before) and I have put above my favorite objects from each room.

rays

January 29, 2012

Thinking about making a new animation for caandides gigs, I am currently exploring how to make patterns with rays of coloured light. I like the texture of each ray but I think to fully exploit this idea I might need to change them to vectors.

Winter ☃ wip #2

January 5, 2012

Below are some visuals for a sleeve design for Caandides. The first ones (that I prefer) come from the idea to have a movie made for the cd and to take a still from it to make it the cover. The latest ones are some visual experiments attempting to convey the universe from Winter (which is by the way: danger, loneliness, paranoia, worry, urban environment, threat).

◘ new screenprints ◘

November 17, 2011

☝ I am making new CMYK prints, one will have a black layer

☝ More explorations with the ‘stamping’ technique

☝ Being inspired from my process inks testing (here), I will make one similar with the pattern I have on the other prints

☝ the cyan layer

some (bad) photos of my latest work in screenprinting

☝ I finished my four-colour process print (although there are three colours)

☝ I also tried to mix the colours (cyan, magenta and yellow) directly on the screen rather than working with three layers…

☝ …but it didn’t mix

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

☝ I tried to make another four-colour process print, with the intention of adding a layer of black, but I didn’t finish it because I thought that the colours transparencies were wrong and they didn’t overlapped well

⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿⟿

☝ I made this to check how the process colours overlap and see which ones I need to modify for the best result. Here for instance the magenta is too transparent.

☝ Another one with a more opaque magenta, we can see that where there are magenta and cyan its purple and not deep blue anymore.
